Light in weight, not in possibilities
Installing communications equipment in a jet plane often means
giving up on other options. Not so with the AVIATOR 700, which is
no more than 8 MCU altogether. It is perfect to replace older
and heavier systems, freeing up space for additional payload
or fuel savings. Despite its small footprint the AVIATOR 700 is a

Inmarsat aeronautical satellite
communications services
Inmarsat is a global satellite communications company operating
geostationary satellites to provide the most versatile and reliable
satellite network in the world. Inmarsat’s primary aeronautical
service offers phone, fax and data services for passenger,
administrative and Air Traffic Control communications on board
commercial, corporate and general aviation aircraft worldwide.
SwiftBroadband
The Thrane & Thrane AVIATOR 700 system is engineered to
take advantage of the latest technologies like SwiftBroadband
for increased reliability and connectivity. The SwiftBroadband
Background Data and Standard Voice channel allows users to access
a shared data channel and a compressed high quality voice channel
at the same time.
The AVIATOR 700 is an Inmarsat class 6 system that supports:
• Circuit-switched standard voice
• Background IP up to 432 kbps
• Streaming IP at 8/16/32/64/128 kbps
• SB X-Stream services
• ISDN service or 3.1 kHz audio
Swift64 (for fallback)
The Inmarsat Swift64 service offers fast data transmission.
It provides both the high quality and speed of a full ISDN service
and the cost effective flexibility of a full IP service (MPDS). For VIP,
corporate and government users, this combination offers unmatched
access to modern communications. The Swift64 channels of the
Aero-HSD+ works equally well with both. ISDN traffic is charged by
the length of time the user remains on-line, whereas MPDS charges
are “per megabit”.
High Gain Antenna (HGA)
For users requiring the highest performance from their
SwiftBroadband service, the AVIATOR 700 system utilizes an
HGA antenna providing data rates up to 432 kbps. For more

CABIN: AVIATOR 700 offers the ability to access a true IP-based
network in flight with Inmarsat’s I-4 Satellite Constellation
facilitating global voice and data calls. With AVIATOR 700 users
can make phone calls, connect their Smartphones, log-on to
corporate networks, e-mail, surf the internet or send a fax all
while in flight.
COCKPIT: Thrane & Thrane’s AVIATOR 700 seamlessly brings critical
safety, navigational and performance data directly into the cockpit,
reducing pilot workload, increasing efficiency and overall
operational safety. Among the services are: OCL (Ocean Clearance),
PDC (Pre-Departure Clearance) and D-ATIS (Digital-Automatic
Terminal Information Service). AVIATOR 700 is also ready for future
CNS/ATM applications.
SB X-Stream Service
The Inmarsat SB X-Stream service provides streaming data at
rates above 256Kbps, enabling higher quality of service and more
data to be streamed at a faster rate, supporting a wide range of
applications within business, military and government sectors.
